TV-coverage
The North Face® Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® will be on Eurosport, Sunday 28th at midnight and it will broadcast a report of 26 minutes about the UTMB®. For the first time, Eurosport is broadcasting a trail race! Everybody should try to watch it, because if the ratings are good, trail running with have its regular space on this channel! There will be 2 broadcasts in 20 languages and in 59 countries (without counting the broadcasts on the Internet): Sunday 28th at midnight and September 12th (time to be confirmed).
An environmentally friendy event
The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®'s Environmental Commission was created in 2006. Its mission is to identify the risks posed to the environment by the event and to come up with ways to protect against them.
New for 2011 :

A increased effort is made to raise awareness on environmental issues amongst supporters and spectators through a special guide and the setting up of a green brigade of volunteers
-
There will be no discarded paper tissues, or soiled toilet paper along the route. Each runner will receive in their race packs three plastic bags in which to transport their rubbish.

A web-site has been set up to facilitate the organisation of car-pooling: www.laroueverte.com/evenement/ultra-trail-du-mont-blanc.

A transport plan has been set up with more than 600 busses available for runners and spectators.

Major access roads will be closed to cars to encourage use of the busses.

Free parking will be available in the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley with the Ultra-Trail® Pass: Grépon and Brévent car-parks, at Chamonix.

In the town centre the "Mulets", free minibuses, easily link the different areas of Chamonix.

Le Salon de l'Ultra-Trail® welcomes the The North Face® Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®'s partners, equipment manufacturers, producers of sports nutrition and sports "medical" equipment, organisers of the biggest international trail races and 5500 trail runners coming from all over the world. Entry is free and it is open to all.
