As in 2010, bad storms are forecast for the first night of The North Face® Ultra-Trail Du Mont-Blanc® and the organisers who have learnt from last year when bad weather meant the main race had to be stopped and was then restarted over the shorter course have responded quickly to the forecast!
The CCC has set off on time, but the route has been shortened to avois some of the very high ground.
The start of the UTMB has been delayed by five hours to 11.30pm. The route has also been amended to the 'old' course, without La Flegere at the end.
The atmosphere in Chamonix is electric as ever, and though ominous clouds are building, the temeratures are pleasant and the sun is shining.
