Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All are proud to announce an exciting new partnership with the Asda Foundation
The not for profit organisation, launched back in 2007 by the late Jane Tomlinson CBE to stand as her fundraising legacy, has secured for the first time since its inception, a title sponsor for the series.
The Asda Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the national supermarket chain, has become the lead sponsor of Yorkshire largest charitable events series. With over 22,000 runners taking part in the Jane Tomlinson Hull, Leeds and York 10Ks, the events are key to the regions sporting calendar.
Supporting charities both nationally and locally the Run For All series over the past 5 years has acted as fundraising vehicle for over 100 different charities benefitting from participants taking part in the events.
Working in tandem, both Run For All and the Asda Foundation are based on the same ethos of inclusion. Providing a series of events that are open to everyone no matter their ability, entrants range from as young as 15 and included complete 10K novices through to seasoned runners.
With community at the heart of the organisations, together they plan to build on the success of the current series to provide events that the region can be proud of. Having already raised in excess of £2million for charity over the past 5 years, the Asda Foundation hopes that through its support the Run For All series will continue to be a significant fundraising vehicle for charities both nationally and locally.
Judith McKenna, Chief Operating Officer at Asda commented: “Asda is extremely proud to be supporting the 10k series and all the Charities that benefit from the runs. The Asda Foundation’s support means customers and colleagues can take on a challenge and achieve their own personal goal next summer. I would really encourage everybody to get involved and take part whether it’s to run, walk or jog”.
As sport is set to be the focal point for 2012, Run For All and the Foundation are launching the Run For Gold campaign where they will be encouraging member of the public to take on a challenge and achieve their own personal gold next summer. Whether that Gold is achieved through completing the 10K in a personal best time, raising the most amount of money or completing a 10K for the first time 2012 is the year for everyone to get involved and help the organisation create a true Run For All.
Mike Tomlinson said: ““The fact that the Asda Foundation have agreed to become title sponsors of the 10k series is an unbelievable boost to all the Charities that benefit from the runs. We feel privileged that they have agreed to back our aspirations and I hope that we can translate this support in to launching new events and enhancing the existing ones.”
The 2012 Asda Foundation Run For All events are set to be a fantastic way for people to embrace the sporting fever next summer and take on the challenge to either run, walk, wheel or jog for gold.
