Race preview: Mizuno Reading Half Marathon - April 1, 2012

With sports featuring high on the agenda for many people in the upcoming Olympic year the organisers of the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon have announced that their Corporate Relay Challenge has sold out, with 70 teams of 4 people registered.

The Reading Half Marathon Corporate Relay Challenge is in its 8th year and it is designed to enable companies to promote a healthy workforce whilst building team spirit and camaraderie amongst colleagues and other businesses. Starting with the half marathon at 10.05 am on Sunday 1 April 2012 each team member runs approximately three miles.

Entrants will be raising money for charity and there will be two winners in the Reading Half Marathon Corporate Relay Challenge - the fastest team on the day and the team raising the most money for charity.

Mizuno Reading Half Marathon - April 1, 2012

The official charity partner for the Reading Half Marathon Corporate Relay Challenge is The Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust and businesses signed up include KPMG, Deloitte, Waitrose & HSBC. Last year’s winner was Ambodee UK.

Public places for the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon are going fast too with not many of the 18,000 places left, the organisers recommend that you sign up as soon as possible if you want to be on the start line on 1 April. The route is one of the UK’s flattest and fastest, and the finish in the impressive Madejski Stadium makes this a race not to miss. Go to the website and register now, entry costs £31.50 for affiliated runners and £33.50 for non-affiliated runners. All runners receive a medal as well as a fantastic goody bag at the finish.

CLIC Sargent and The Royal Berks Charity are the official charities for 2012. Other supported charities include The Fire Fighters Charity, Pancreatic Cancer UK, Duchess of Kent House Charity, Berkshire MS Therapy Centre, Against Breast Cancer, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Sue Ryder, Autistica and The Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust.
