On race day, everything should be well rehearsed: Your breakfast, your warm up routine, your race plan including nutrition and hydration. Of course all your kit shuld be tried and tested too. Never be tempted to by new kit at the Expo and wear it on race day (much better to buy it and wear it after the big race, ready for the next event!).
There is however one exception I would make! This exception only applies if the piece of clothing I am talking about isn't already in your kit-bag!
I am talking about a well fitting running-bra.
Watching running races, it is aparent that the message about the importance of a well fitting running-bra doesn't seem to have reached as many runners as it should.
It is because unecessary 'bounce' could lead to more damage and pain than a well fitted sports bra that I call all female runners who are not yet 'supported' to visit the Expo and to get fitted for a running bra! Make use of the great choice available and the help of experienced fitters to find a bra that is right for you!
