Race report: London Heroes Run - April 1, 2012

Another HEROES RUN event was launched a few weeks ago on Clapham Common. The HEROES RUN race series is run by volunteer led charity, Pass It On Africa who are the people that first held it on Brighton seafront in March 2005.

Pass It On Africa created the HEROES RUN events as a way to fundraise for the three African School/Orphanages they support in Ghana, The Gambia and Kenya.

As well as Pass It On Africa, 8 of their 30 charity partners had supporters involved in this London event. So far between them the HEROES RUN London charity partners have raised over 11,000 pounds for their specific causes.

The race field was at its capacity and the event is scheduled to run again next year. As ever there were some really great costumes winners who were all awarded a bottle of wine courtesy of official event partner, Barefoot Wine. The prizes were handed out by the official race starters and local HEROES, Simon and Felix from Basement Jaxx.

The Brighton HEROES RUN event which is Pass It On Africa’s main annual fundraiser will be taking place for the 8th time on Brighton and Hove Seafront on Sunday May 20. Like the recent London event there will be 22 other charity partners there on the day so hopefully lots of funds will be raised for a number of good causes.
