Ok, cheap headline, but the Brathay 10 in 10 runners do sometimes refer to themselves as TITs in their blogs! They have all completed five out of ten laps of the Brathay Windermere Marathon course now!
18 runners are taking part in the 2012 edition of this now well established challenge, raising funds for the Brathay Trust.
As every year, there are many stories of incredible feats of endurance and battles against the odds or against injury. Most of the participants update their blogs on a daily basis, giving a great insight into their challenges as well as a great chance to remind friends and followers to help with their fundraising efforts! There are also daily video updates from the runners available from CumbriaTV, which offer great insight into the day of a Brathay 10 in 10 runner! (Click here to watch the videos)
The fastest runner so far this year over the first 5 days is Sally Ford, who has a total time of 18:08:49 and so is narrowly ahead of Matt Dunn who is just 5 minutes behind with 18:13:52, having finished in first place for the last three days! Most runners have hopefully completed day six of the challenge too by now, and there are 'only' three marathons left before Sunday's grand finale at the Brathay Windermere Marathon when they should have the added advantage of some extra support on the course from fellow runners and spectators.
