This year will prove to be the biggest and best yet, as we have added a new event - Grim Up North
Yes it’s in Hull but will be worth travelling to this new event and try out the course where the army elite test their vehicles and learn to handle the gruelling landscape.
The full, GRIM calendar of muddy madness is below. It’s time to ruin your trainers and enter now….

GRIM Duathlon
Aldershot – 5k run / 20k mountain bike / 5k run off-road challenge – Saturday 20th October 2012
The GRIM Duathlon proved itself to be an ideal race for competitors wanting to do something that little different on a weekend. Perfect for beginners and seasoned pros alike, the event is held over the army’s vehicle testing tracks. The runs will incorporate hills, mud, water and crawling under cammo nets while the bike leg will take you on rocky paths, sandy tracks, up and down hills and over moguls on the Army's vehicle testing circuit. All the elements are there to be mastered, but all you’ll have will be your trainers and the bike – will you survive?
Oh, forgot to mention, through some puddles as well so be prepared to get off and carry that bike.
Enter as an individual or as a team of three where you must compete together so press-gang those mates in to joining you – it’s more fun.

Pine Ridge 10k
Wisley, Surrey – 10k run – Saturday 3rd November 2012
This multi terrain 10k on an undulating course will take you through the beautiful pine forests and woodlands of Wisley and Ockham Commons. This is the perfect warm up for those wishing to test their cross country legs for the GRIM.
The race is just a stone’s throw away from the M25 / A3 junction which is easily accessible and there is ample event parking at the Royal Horticultural Society's Gardens at Wisley.

GRIM Up-North
8 mile off-road challenge – Hull – Sunday 18th November 2012
It’s GRIM up north, and we’re not just talking about the weather! Finally the GRIM 8 miler is making its way up north, having acquired MOD land at Normandy barracks, Hull. This where the army elite test their vehicles and learn to handle the gruelling landscape. Tough enough for the vehicles……..think you can handle it better than an 18 tonne truck?
The 8 mile race will take you through the best (worst!) parts of the vehicle training circuit, and will without doubt test you to the limits and why wouldn’t it? Throw into the mix the mega man-made obstacles, not forgetting water crossings and a wading lake; we’re sure this is a billing truly fit for the title of GRIM.

GRIM Challenge
8 mile off-road challenge – Aldershot – Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd December 2012
The GRIM Challenge continues to go from strength to strength. Last year’s event sold out well in advance as over 7,000 nutters took to the Army’s vehicle testing tracks.
The course promises all of the usual mud, trails, hills, cammo nets and those famous waist high GRIM puddles, we will also be including the ‘big dipper’ sand dune for good measure!
As in previous years, you can enter as an individual or as a team of three so round up your friends and join in the fun.
