Human Race Festival of Sport to take a break in 2013

by Press Release
Friday 14th December 2012

Event organisers, Human Race, have today announced that the Human Race Festival of Sport will not take place in 2013

The event, which debuted in September 2012, was a weekend of mass participation sport and live music set on the beach front of Marazion, Cornwall; welcoming over 4,500 participants and visitors.

Despite such an impressive attendance at the event and resoundingly positive feedback from participants and media alike, Human Race have sadly come to the conclusion not to stage the event in Cornwall in 2013.

This has not been an easy decision as we have thoroughly enjoyed developing the concept over the last eighteen months and working to deliver what is in this market a unique event. The iconic setting and wonderful landscape of West Cornwall provided us with something truly special and we are very disappointed not to be returning in 2013.

The long-running event company boasts the UK’s largest and most diverse event portfolio with over 50 events in Triathlon, Open Water Swimming, Running, Cycling, Off-Road Duathlon and Trails Runs, Women-Only and Kids events. Amongst the portfolio are the Toshiba Windsor Triathlon and Wiggle Dragon Ride both hugely prestigious events in the Triathlon and Cycling calendars respectively.

Human Race are set to launch further iconic and innovative events in early 2013 as well as developing all aspects of their current events to provide market leading event experiences for all participants.

Nick Rusling, CEO of Human Race said, “The Human Race Festival of Sport was one of the most spectacular events we have delivered in our history and the decision to pause the event for 2013 was taken with a very heavy heart. However, there is a lot to look forward to in the near future and we are excited about several announcements that we will be able to make early next year.”
