Race news: Human Race Off-Road Race Series - IceMan, TuffMan & TrailMan

With 2013 well under way, so too is the Human Race Off-Road Race Series, featuring five events taking place across the autumn, winter and spring of the 2012/13 season. With each event in the series comprising of a fully off-road duathlon plus a long and short distance trail run there really is something for everyone and with 3 events still to go, there is still time to get involved.

Traditionally the Off-Road Race Series welcomes a varied mix of participants from experienced off-road athletes through to those taking to the trails for the first time and also those who wish to run with their dog. With a range of different distances on offer each event is designed to cater for anyone looking to maintain fitness through the colder months and the tough nature of the races make for great camaraderie among competitors and marshals alike.

With the WildMan and MudMan events having already taken place competitors turn their attention to the IceMan event which takes place at Frimley, Surrey on 26 January. The fourth race in the series sees competitors head over to the really rough stuff at Pippingford Park for TuffMan on the 23 February before the spectacular finale in the forests of Eridge Park near Royal Tunbridge Wells for the TrailMan event on Sunday the 7 April.

Also every finisher will also receive a limited edition technical t-shirt, with five to collect through the series.  There will also be a special trophy for the best performing canine competitor within the series. So far Juliette Clark and Phillip Westoby top the leaderboard in the duathlon series while Heike Godwin and Kevin Quinn take the lead in the run series.
