Trail running is one of the UK’s fastest growing sports and Salomon is offering recreational runners the chance to try it out at a series of free events this summer. It’s a great way to discover a trail in your own city.
Sport England’s sixth annual Active People survey recorded a ‘statistically significant increase in sports participation’ with over 750,000 adults participating than the previous year. Thanks in large part to the Olympic Games, more people are keeping active and looking for new ways to do so.
Salomon intends to contribute to the active society Olympic legacy by encouraging more people to try trail running – and making it an accessible sport for anyone who wants to try it. As well as being a great way to keep fit for all the family, running in parks, forests and trails is a great way to see the beautiful British landscape.
This summer, the Salomon City Trail team will be in urban parks up and down the country setting up two pre-marked courses for people of any age and ability to have a go at. You can run at your own pace – it is not a race.
There’ll be a selection of trail shoes to try out, insole and foot health experts from Superfeet on hand to offer advice, professional athletes to chat to and even GPS watches to test. Participants can also pick up a free pair of Salomon socks and an Ordnance Survey Map.
