Product news: Top performance sportswear brand, Crewroom, has joined forces with London Duathlon to become the event’s official sportswear partner for 2013
Renowned for its innovative and award-winning performance products, Crewroom has a growing reputation for delivering bespoke kit to mass-participation sports events, including the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon and Ultra races.
The company design and road test all their kit in the UK, drawing on the cream of British talent from the internationally renowned London College of Fashion to performance athletes, many of whom have represented GB at international level.
Crewroom’s collaboration with sports event owners Limelight Sports, who stage London Duathlon, comes just three months after the sports brand was named technical apparel sponsor for another of the UK’s most popular events, the Royal Parks Foundation Ultra.
The duathlon, which takes place in London’s Richmond Park on Sunday 15 September, attracts thousands of runners and cyclists every year.
As Official Sportswear Partner, Crewroom will provide the finishers shirts for all London Duathlon participants. In addition, Crewroom will offer a VIP kit package for athletes participating in the exclusive ultra distance!
The VIP package, worth over £90 per head, includes a running vest from Crewroom’s new Refresher collection and their Core Equilibrium Gilet. The vest utilises Crewroom’s revolutionary Vapour-X © fabric, which is a unique blend of bamboo charcoal and recycled polyester – a sustainable performance fabric. The gilet is made with Pertex Equilibrium, which is wind- and shower-resistant with capillary action technology that ensures moisture is transported away from the skin to the surface of the fabric where it evaporates.
Crewroom’s Founder, Kate Giles, said today: “Our offices are on the banks of the River Thames in Putney, just a short walk from Richmond Park, where London Duathlon is staged. London and the surrounding community are incredibly important to us at Crewroom, so we jumped at the chance to work with London Duathlon.
“Through our association with the Royal Parks Foundation’s half marathon and ultra events, we already work with the top team at Limelight Sports and we’re delighted to be working with them again on London Duathlon.”

With the help of their Sportswear Fashion interns, Crewroom will also design and develop a merchandise range for the duathlon, which will see a percentage of proceeds channelled back into the future events.
