Run247 were at the Virgin London marathon Expo catching up with the brands, athletes and celebrities over the race week. In association with our friends at Sweatshop we have put together a series of video interviews for your enjoyment
We first met Steve at the Virgin London Marathon Exhibition in 2011 and were fascinated with the story about his amazing journey from a 16.5 stone unfit smoker to a 2:19 marathon runner - in just two and a half years. (HERE: I'm an 'all or nothing' kind of guy!)
Since then we've gotten to know and appreciate Steve as a very approachable and talented runner and spoke to him again in 2012 (HERE: Steve Way - the guy with the yellow hair) and of course couldn't miss the chance to do so again in 2013. Steve told us about his preparation for the 2013 Virgin London Marathon and his quest for a sub 2:18 ime:
Steve's injury unfortunately meant that he had to abandon the race after six miles.
A month on Steve is recovering from the injury and looking ahead to a new challenge in August, when he will be racing in the “Stockholm Ultra Marathon 100km”, hoping to break 7 hours for the 100km, a feat that only two British runners have accomplished this century, one of them is Steve's club mate Jez Bragg!
