Race news: Running Show Races: Sandown Park, November 24, 2013

On November 23 & 24, 2013 Sandown Park will be hosting the Running Show (www.runningshow.co.uk). As well as the latest products from the top running brands and expert advice in seminars, you can combine your visit with some racing - with 5km and 10km events on Sunday 24th, along with a 2km family run.

After the popularity of last year's 2k family run and 10k race, the Running Show will this year offer an additional 5km race to visitors at Sandown Park Racecourse on Sunday 24th November.

The 10k, 5k and 2k runs, organised by aat events, will be held on the second day of the weekend, providing runners with an unusual race around the historic racecourse. The 2k is open to children, offering fun for all the family, while the 5km offers a slightly less demanding, yet equally competitive alternative to the 10k race.

The 2k is the first event of the day, starting at 10:30, shortly followed by the 5k and 10k at 11:00. All three events will take place in the grounds of Sandown Park Racecourse, which dates back to 1875, and with its scenic backdrop of several of London's landmarks, including Wembley Stadium and even the Gherkin.

The runs will be held alongside the main exhibition as well as a full schedule of interactive and informative seminars, giving visitors access to running's leading experts on a variety of topics, including nutrition expert, Joel Enoch, GB international athlete and MD of Sub-4-Health, Clifton Bradeley, and a Q & A with former international runner, Martin Yelling, to name just a few.

Exhibitors already announced include Pearl Izumi, Brooks, Newton, Asics, Moving Comfort, The Running School, Surrey Human Performance Institute, Soleus, newline, Balega, Hilly, cep Compression, Fit Brands, On, TomTom, Puma, HIGH5, Mizuno, FX-SPORT, Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series, and much more.

Last year's 10k race winner, Paolo Natali, won with an impressive time of 32.01, and clearly enjoyed his run, saying: “It was a really nice course and well organised. It's definitely not a flat course and there's a lot of twists and turns which keeps it interesting.”

Runners must pre-enter for both the 5k and 10k events, with entry already open online -https://regonline.activeglobal.com/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1240853. The 2k run is free to any visitors who have purchased a show ticket. Please note – registration closes on Thursday 21st November.
