COMPRESSPORT V2 ProRacing socks

Socks are socks, right? Unless they have 3D dots!

After years of research & development Compressport launched the ProRacing Socks in 2011. They quickly became a major worldwide success - the 'must have' sock for any serious endurance athlete.

Worn and tested by pro athletes as well as and weekend warriors, the Compressport V1 ProRacing Sock offered extreme comfort, improved blood circulation and biomechanical advantages.

Two years later and Compressport innovates again by bringing you the V2 ProRacing Sock. An improved version using the latest technology and manufacturing processes to build on the V1’s success. The V2 ProRacing Sock is thinner and lighter, offering added benefits and improved performance, including a seamless finish, new ventilation zones and a new arch support.

So why the dots?

  • The 3D Dots provide a massaging Acupressure effect to activate blood circulation and shock absorption, which prevents pressure points and hot spots.
  • The 3D Dots located at the back of the sock help protect the Achilles tendon by serving as a cushion to prevent friction and pressure.
  • The design of the 3D Dots enable moisture to be evacuated between the dots and air to circulate freely so your foot stays cool and dry.
  • The 3D Dots provide maximum grip in the shoe preventing the foot from slipping.

The new socks come in four styles:

  • V2 Run High Cut Sock RRP: £15.00
  • V2 Run Low Cut Sock RRP: £15.00
  • V2 Trail Sock RRP: £15.00
  • V2 Bike Sock RRP: £15.00

COMPRESSPORT V2 ProRacing socks

What we have here is a range of socks for every eventuality. Long, short, off road, cycling. All bases covered, covered in dots! They look cool and always get comments and they feel great too. The dots at first feel slightly odd as you might expect when you get your hands on a set. They are actually quite pronounced and you can feel this when you climb in.

Sensibly the trail socks come in a range of darker, mud friendly colours and of course this means you can wear them to work too! Great thinking!

If you are familiar with the brand you will be aware that quality is part of the deal. I have had these through many washes now and they are doing well. They go in a standard 40 degree wash or lower. Not hotter! Look after them and they will last you a lot of runs, or cycles, or days in the office...

The V2 socks are of a hem less design, anatomically correct and are built to wick away moisture whilst gripping your foot in a cradle like fashion. As sock technology goes I think it is pretty much up there. They seem to have covered off all aspects of foot pampering even acupressure to sooth your hard working feet.

As ever with technology it costs but I suspect we have moved on from matching a £150 pair of trainers with a £1 pair of socks. Here you have a great foot option. I will avoid any dot gags out of respect for a great range of socks that offer you great features for your chosen sport. The bike socks have extra toe protection for added warmth for example. It makes sense, the more you invest in trainers the more you should invest in socks, after all they are the contact between feet and shoe.
