Race preview: KC Hull 10K Corporate Challenge, part of Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All Hull 10K - June 8, 2014

On your marks, get set, go – that’s the message to business people across the region as communications company KC confirmed it will be again supporting the Hull 10K Corporate Challenge. It will be the second successive year that the Hull-based firm has sponsored the challenge, which forms part of Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All Hull 10K taking place on Sunday 8th June.

Last year over 400 employees of local businesses took on the 6.2 mile course in a bid to lift the fastest firm crown and raise money for good causes.

KC’s communications manager Kay Stevenson said: “We very much enjoyed our involvement with last year’s corporate challenge and are delighted to again offer our support for 2014. The challenge is a great way to encourage team building and raise money for some very worthy causes. It’s also a great way to encourage employees to become fitter and healthier.”

Charlie Tatman, of Run For All, said: “We very much appreciate KC’s support for the Hull 10K Corporate Challenge. The friendly rivalry and spirit of competition it encourages between companies adds an extra dimension to the 10K. The challenge was very well supported last year and we are sure it will prove even more popular for 2014.”

Teams taking part enjoy corporate hospitality on race day and are also invited to a pre-event quiz evening, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate they have quick minds as well as quick feet.

The challenge is open to teams of 5 or more. The times of the first three team members home are added together and averaged out, with the quickest team carrying off the prizes and the bragging rights.

The Hull 10K on June 8th forms part of the Jane Tomlinson Run For All 10K series which also includes Pennine Lancashire 10K on June 22nd, Leeds 10K on July 20th and York 10K on August 3rd.
