Athlete news: Susan Partridge, has been selected to lead the GB & NI Team at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark on Saturday, March 29, 2014
Following on from the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon trials last weekend and the first leg of the runbritain grand prix, elite female runner and winner of the race Susan Partridge, has been selected to lead the GB & NI Team at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark on Saturday 29th March.
Leading a strong team of four, Partridge is no stranger to these tough races and last year, finished an outstanding 10th place at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow.
After finishing 22nd two years ago in Bulgaria, she is under no illusions that it will be easy but now feels more comfortable competing at international level.
Susan Partridge commented: “I'm very pleased that I'm able to represent GB & NI again this spring and I’m keen to try and keep the momentum going after my 10th place finish at the World Championships Marathon last summer. I've been building up my training since the beginning of the year and things are starting to come together again so I am hopeful that in a few more weeks I'll be in good enough shape to be competitive in a strong international field.”
Alyson Dixon who finished 3rd in the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon last weekend will also be joining her, along with Rory Fraser and Ben Moreau.
