The Road to Brighton - Part 7: Race day & the elite - results & videos

by Editor
Wednesday 2nd April 2014

Race feature: In the run up to the Brighton Marathon Weekend, Run247 will look at this popular event, now well established in the UK marathon calendar

2014 will be the fifth Brighton Marathon. The times of the winners appear to have decreased at the same rate as the race has grown in size and popularity - will 2014 see another new set of record times?

With the best ever field assembled for Brighton Marathon (HERE), a faster course and double the prize money (HERE), 2014 looks to be an exciting race! In addition, the UK’s fastest over 10k for 2014, Nick McCormick, and third fastest woman, Louise Damen, are the big name draws for the inaugural BM10k (HERE).

There are five men on the start list for 2014 who have run faster over the distance than last year's winning time of 2:10:46 - the current race record, set by Dominic Kangor, who will be on the start line again! In the women's race there's just one athlete - Hellen Mugo - who has run faster than the course record.
