The race is on to sign up for the KC Hull 10K Corporate Challenge.

Hundreds of businessmen and women will hit the streets of Hull on June 8th to take part in the popular event, part of the Asda Foundation Hull 10K, organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All.

It is the second successive year that Hull-based KC has sponsored the business battle – and 2014 is set to be even bigger and better. Last year over 400 businessmen and women took on the 6.2 mile course in a bid to lift the fastest firm crown and raise money for good causes.

And with today’s launch of this year’s challenge, a host of companies have already signed up to be part of the event.

KC’s communications manager Kay Stevenson said: “It’s great to be once again involved in the corporate challenge and very encouraging to see firms already coming forward to snap up a place. It promises to be a great day for everyone involved and of course the real winners will be the many good local causes that benefit from the efforts of all the runners.”

Charlie Tatman, of Run For All, said: “We very much appreciate KC’s support for the Hull 10K Corporate Challenge. The friendly rivalry and spirit of competition it encourages between companies adds an extra dimension to the 10K. The challenge was very well supported last year and we are sure it will prove even more popular for 2014.”

Among those signed up to take part is the Hull-based Sangwin Group of companies. The firm’s Katie Sangwin said: “The Sangwin Group is delighted to take part in their third consecutive Jane Tomlinson Hull 10K. It is an event we are proud to support and raise money for local charities. We look forward to rising to the challenge and enjoy the friendly rivalry amongst team members and the other local corporate teams that take part”.

One of the region’s biggest corporate challenges, teams taking part enjoy hospitality on race day and are also invited to a pre-event social evening at which they can pit their wits and physical prowess against each other in the fun, cycle-themed 10K Tournament.

The KC Hull 10K Corporate Challenge is open to teams of five or more. The times of the first three team members home are added together and averaged out, with the quickest team carrying off the prizes and the bragging rights.
