Asda Foundation Hull 10K - Sunday, June 8, 2014

The Asda Foundation Hull 10K is in safe hands this year following the signing of a new sponsorship deal.

Arco (www.arco.co.uk), the UK’s leading safety company, is to be one of the sponsors of the event, which this year celebrates its 5th anniversary.

Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, the race has grown to be the East Riding’s favourite run and thousands of people will take to the streets of Hull for this year’s event on Sunday 8th June.

Neil Jowsey, Arco Joint Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with the Hull 10K.
It’s a great occasion enjoyed by all those who take part as well as the many supporters who turn out to cheer participants on.

“It’s particularly pleasing to be associated with a 10K that inspires thousands of runners to raise substantial sums of money for a host of good causes including 74 Arco colleagues who’ve come together to create the largest
Corporate Challenge team in the event’s history.

“We wish all those taking part good luck and every success with their fundraising.”

Arco, which has over 40 Trade Counters across the UK, boasts an award-winning distribution centre in Hull. The family-owned business is known for its impressive community and charitable commitments, donating in excess of 1% of pre-tax profits annually.

Charlie Tatman, Event Lead at Run For All, said: “We are grateful to Arco for its support. The excellent backing we enjoy for the Hull 10K helps to ensure the event is a success and that a great deal of money is raised to support the vital work of many worthy causes.”

Arco joins the Asda Foundation, KC, Hull City Council, MKM Building Supplies, Runner’s World, Hull Daily Mail, Viking FM and Run247.com as supporters of the Hull 10K.

Entrants can run for any good cause of their choice but are particularly encouraged to support one of the event’s partner charities – Echoes Foundation, CLIC Sargent, Martin House Children’s Hospice, Dove House Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support, Candlelighters, Yorkshire Cancer Research, Hull Children’s University, Hull and East Riding (HER) Breast Friends and Jane Tomlinson Appeal.

The event - which takes in the Marina, The Deep and other Hull landmarks – forms part of the 2014 Asda Foundation 10K series that includes the Pennine Lancashire 10K on June 22, Leeds 10K on July 20 and York 10K on August 3. It also includes the KC Hull 10K Corporate Challenge in which business-based teams of five or more battle it out to be the fastest firm in the city.
