Race news: The Shorne Woods 10k - September 21, 2014
Those of you who were lucky enough to run in the Joyden’s Wood 10k near Dartford in previous years, will be glad to learn that this year the event has moved down the road to Shorne Woods.
The name of the event is now The Shorne Woods 10k and will be held on the 21st September 2014.
So, why the move? The event host and organisers Kelly’s Charity Events said: ‘Joyden’s Wood is a fantastic venue and perfect for the local charity The Parents Consortium who benefit from the event. However we’ve added chYps as another beneficiary so we needed a bigger venue! Shorne Woods has it all: lots of parking, an onsite café and being on the side of the North Downs there are some great trails to run on with some challenging climbs! So if you’re a seasoned off runner or new to running, there will be something for everyone. A 10k route, a 5k route and 1.2k for kids will be on offer.
The Parent’s Consortium both support the parents and their children and young people all whom will have a form of physical, learning or sensory impairment, whilst providing activities and one-to-one support.
chYps (children and young people’s service of EllenorLions Hospices) specialises in taking the hospice to the child by delivering end of life, cancer and respite care in the family home.
