NEW Hot Chocolate Run Series comes to the UK #runforchoc

by Press Release
Wednesday 7th January 2015

Race news: Innovative Hot Chocolate Run Series launches for 2015, with 15% off all race entry prices in early bird offer!

Why do you run? For many it is about keeping lean, being fit and having an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. Well, here’s another one to add to that list – hot chocolate. Yes, you’ve heard it right, the Hot Chocolate Run Series launches in the UK this January – an event in which all finishers will be rewarded with hot chocolate at the end of their race.

Previously known as the 'Windsor & Eton Winter Run Series', the events take on a new, fun identity for the 2015 season, in which competitors are invited to enjoy a festive of hot chocolate at the finish. From marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles to cream and chopped nuts - every taste bud will be well catered for.

Each event in the series takes place at Dorney Lake in Windsor, on a fast and flat course in which competitors will be able to take part in a range of distances ranging from 5km right up to a half marathon.

And not only that, but the generous event organisers are also offering 15% off* all race entries until 9pm on Sunday January 18th, in celebration of the new series and to encourage more runners to come along and give it a go!

The events run on the following dates:

  • Race 1: Sunday January 18th 2015
  • Race 2: Saturday February 21st 2015
  • Hot Chocolate Half Marathon: Saturday March 21st 2015
  • Race 3: Sunday March 22nd 2015
  • Race 4: Saturday April 18th 2015.

Martyn Edwards, Race Director of the Hot Chocolate Run Series is very excited about the launch, and he says, ‘The goal of the Hot Chocolate Series is simple: it is not just about running and crossing the finish line, it is to be a unique experience for those taking part, one in which they can enjoy with everyone else around them.’

‘If you have never walked, jogged or run 5km or 10km before, then you are in the 80% of expected participants that also have not. There will be distances for everyone, and we expect to see a whole host of entrants – from those embarking on their first ever event, to those taking part competitively. Some will want to race to the finish and most will be happy to wrap up warm and enjoy the venue and being in the cold great outdoors in readiness for some much needed Hot Chocolate at the end.’

So what are you waiting for?

Entries are now open, and the 15% discount code is valid until 9pm on Sunday 18th January (the evening of Race 1). All you need to do is enter RUNFORCHOC when requested upon checkout.
