Like the Wind Magazine celebrate their first birthday & launch issue #4 of the magazine
There are many running magazines in the world. If you want a half marathon plan, to read reviews of the latest kit, or find out about races, then there are plenty of great publications out there. However, there hasn’t really been a magazine that marries inspirational stories with beautiful, unique artwork and fills you with a love of running so great that you want to drop the magazine (well, place it carefully on a coffee table without scuffing any pages), get your trainers on and head out of the door to feel some of what the contributors are writing about. Until now.
Like the Wind magazine has just had its first birthday (celebrated with a party in a gallery featuring images from the four issues) and what a year it’s been. It has featured stories from Lizzy Hawker, Dean Karnazes, Emelie Forsberg, Charlie Spedding, Richard Askwith, Robbie Britton, Boff Whalley, and just as importantly, normal runners like you and me, who have an inspiring tale to tell. All contributors write for free and the magazine is not-for-profit, giving to charities nominated by contributors.
As well as publishing the magazine they held a very successful pop-up in the summer, with speakers including Jez Bragg, Steve Way, Seb Chaigneau and Holly Rush, film nights and workshops spanning topics such as action sports photography and making your own running tights! There’s even a shop where you can buy some of the beautiful prints from the magazine, T-shirts that any runner would covet, and of course the magazine (though you should really subscribe). www.likethewindmagazine.com/shop/
Like the Wind isn’t just a running magazine, it’s a thing of beauty, it’s a tool to inspire your running, it’s your new best running buddy, it’ll keep you company when you’re sick or injured and have to get your running fix vicariously.
Issue 4 is out now but read it with caution. Make sure your trainers are nearby and you have easy access to a door. Unless you’re on a train.

I’d describe myself as borderline obsessed with running, racing, reading about running, and watching others run so hopefully I’m fairly typical of Run247’s visitors. I tend to do longer races, particularly off-road marathons and ultras, but am pretty much a fan of any distance. I'm passionate about helping runners of all levels to improve through running communities I'm involved in, such as Underground Ultra and Free Range Runners.
