Race news: Ikano Robin Hood Marathon, Half Marathon and Mini Marathon - Nottingham, Sunday September 27, 2015
The wait is over, it’s time to get ready and lace up those trainers as the Ikano Robin Hood Marathon, Half Marathon and Mini Marathon returns to Nottingham on Sunday 27 September 2015. Over 10,000 runners are expected to take to the half marathon and over 2,000 runners are predicted to line up for the full marathon. There’s some very exciting news this year as both races will see a new route being announced over the coming months. Race organiser, Sweatshop and Nottingham City Council have been working hard to develop a route that will take runners past the iconic sights of the City, bringing back some old favourites whilst keeping the picturesque start and finish line next to the River Trent – the new routes will be announced soon.
Nick Pearson, Race Director says; “Our thanks goes to headline sponsor, Ikano and Nottingham City Council whose continued support facilitates this iconic event year on year.
“In 2014, runners in their thousands, young and old, took to their first competitive event and many seasoned athletes achieved Personal Best race times. Last year we introduced some changes to the Race Village which really enhanced the runner experience. This year we are really excited with the new elements of the race, and whilst the route is still under wraps, we know once it’s revealed runners will be as excited as we are. This years’ event will not be one to miss.”
Sweatshop confirms that the half marathon course is ideal for beginners as well as faster runners looking for a personal best. Early bird entry fees remain the same as 2014 for one month only:
Half Marathon: £27.75 (UKA affiliated club runners) / £29.75 for all other runners.
Marathon: £36 (UKA affiliated club runners) / £38 for all other runners.
Wheelchair athletes: £10
Mini marathon: £6.75
All races include a fantastic medal and a goody bag at the finish.
