Race news: Plymouth’s Half Marathon - Sunday, April 19, 2015

Organisers of Plymouth’s Half Marathon, GO2, are urging runners not to leave it until the last minute to sign up for this year’s race, with less than one week left to secure their place with entries set to close at midnight on Monday 23rd March!

The event has already attracted a phenomenal level of interest, breaking records within the first 24 hours of entries opening, and securing over 1,000 runners within the first week! This was spurred by the success of last year’s Plymouth 10k, which has proved to be the perfect entry platform for first time runners, and further encouraged many participants to go on to tackle their first ever half marathon on Sunday 19th April.

Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial at GO2, said: "The running community in Plymouth never fails to impress, with their dedication and commitment to Plymouth’s Half Marathon. We are impressed by how many runners year on year are helping to make the race a real staple event in the running diary, and this year we are edging ever closer to a race sell out!

“Please remember there will be no standard entries available after Monday 23rd March or on race day itself, so we would encourage you to secure your place in the coming days, as we would hate for any runners to be left disappointed!”

The stunning and varied route is perfect for either beginners or those more experienced runners wanting to beat a previous half marathon time. The route boasts charming coastal paths, a flat harbour section, beautiful National Trust grounds of Saltram Park and runners can finish off at the Hoe, where you can expect thousands of supporters waiting to cheer you across the finish line!

So why wait? Join Plymouth’s runners today and make this race one to remember! Visit www.plymouthhalfmarathon.com where you can sign up for the challenge today!
