Professional Sports Group is delighted to announce a brand new off-road trail running event. The inaugural ‘Discovery Run’ will take place in the beautiful grounds of Petworth Park on Saturday 30th May 2015.
The Discovery Run is an exciting new mass-participation off-road trail running event offering a variety of race distances, including 5km, 10km, Half-Marathon and a Kids Run. Whether you’re after a fun new challenge or a seasoned runner looking to test your limits, the Discovery Run has a route for everyone.
With unmistakable beauty, Petworth Park offers original and stunning trails through the 700-acre Park of the iconic National Trust property amongst the rolling hills of West Sussex.
Ian Pearce at Petworth House and Park said “We are very much looking forward to working with Professional Sports Group again this year. This Discovery Run will take competitors into areas of the park not open to visitors to experience an exciting range of terrains.”
Runners will make their way along undulating single lap courses, twist and turn through woodland areas, race through open parkland, navigate the deer park and take in the views of the picturesque lakes, culminating in a memorable finish in front of Petworth House.
Offering 5km, 10km and Half-Marathon distances and a Fun Run, the Discovery Run offers a challenge for all levels of fitness and running ability allowing entrants to run wild and discover nature.
Commenting on the event, Louise Cornish, Events Director said: “The tag line is ‘Your Challenge. Your Discovery’ and we ask the participant to make their own discovery, whether they are doing their first ever race, looking to conquer a new course, or purely wanting to explore further into the depths of Petworth Park.”
