Watch 35 simultaneous events unfold LIVE as one global winner is declared. Who will out run the chase cars for longest?
Tens of thousands of runners. 35 locations around the globe. The world’s most innovative charity run heads into its second edition
The 2015 edition of the Wings for Life World Run will take place on May 3, starting at 11am UTC [GBR 12:00 noon].
Everyone taking part in the Wings for Life World Run will start at exactly the same time with the aim of staying ahead of the ‘Catcher Car’. Rather than running towards a finish line, all athletes are gradually chased by the car, which increases its speed at given times. Once the car catches you, you are out. The global winners are the last female and male athlete to be caught on one of the 35 tracks.
Both the runners and the Catcher Car drivers are expected to have a lot of fun, action and challenges on the way.
Scotland’s David Coulthard will be the Catcher Car driver at Silverstone driving at a dizzying 15 km/h.
