Event news: Bridport Runners are offering three guided runs on the official 5k and 10k route ahead of the races on Sunday, 12th of July
Better be prepared: For anyone who is thinking of starting in this year’s Bridport Jurassic Coast Run, Bridport Runners are offering three guided runs on the official 5k and 10k route ahead of the races on Sunday, 12th of July.
The sessions are for free and will take place on the following Wednesday nights: June 17th and 24th and July 1st, all starting at 6.00 pm from the car park at the Bees stadium, opposite the Leisure Centre.
The races over the three distances 1 mile, 5k and 10k will start from 10.30 am on July 12th at the Bridport Leisure Centre.
The 1 mile run for 12 years and under will be a flat course on the fields around the Bridport Leisure Centre.
The 5k race – which includes the beautiful Jurassic Coast at West Bay – is mainly aimed at novice runners and those who want to get back into running again (not suitable for children under 12 years).
Finally the 10k race is more of a challenging cross-country event, mainly off-road, using tracks and footpaths. The route will lead to the top of the second highest hill on the south coast, Thorncombe Beacon near Eype. It is aimed at established runners and those wishing to undertake the next step up.
Anyone interested in coming to the taster sessions please contact one of Bridport Runners’ coaches. Their details can be found on the contact page of Bridport Runners’ website: www.bridport-runners.co.uk
