Race report: Color Run London - Wembley Park, June 7, 2015

Tonnes of coloured powder and 19,000 happy ‘color runners’ made for an incredible day at London’s Wembley Park when The Color Run’s world famous colour party returned to the city for the third time today.
Starting the day as a blank canvas and finishing head-to-toe in every colour of the rainbow, runners from across the Capital and beyond took part in the ‘Happiest 5k on the Planet'. Meandering through the streets of Wembley Park, participants were doused in coloured powder at every kilometre before making their way across the finish line and into the Festival Finish.
Famous faces taking part in today’s event and both representing Official Charity Partner NSPCC were Eastenders star Luisa Bradshaw-White and TV’s Dr Linda Papadopolous. Also amongst the happy ‘Color Runners’ was Made in Chelsea’s Fran-Newman Young, covered in every colour of the rainbow she enthused: “We’ve had the best day. It’s been amazing to get some fitness in whilst having so much fun. It’s been a blast getting covered in colour, the blue zone was immense!”

In celebration of their efforts, ‘Color Runners’ then partied in true London style, producing epic ‘Color Throws’ that filled the venue with bursts of vibrant multicolour as Capital FM DJs pumped awesome live music from the stage.
Driving the concept of the untimed 5k, The Color Run is more about enjoying a day of fitness and fun, with the aim for participants to cross the finish line with smiles on their faces. Today saw participants jog, walk, skip and dance their way around the Wembley route with friends, family and colleagues.
James Robinson, MD of Challenger World said: “What an incredible way to start The Color Run summer! London has done us proud: the runners here today have encapsulated the spirit and passion of this event with incredible style. Thanks to everyone who came and made the day such a success, roll on Manchester!”
Setting the tone for a colour-filled summer, today’s event at Wembley Park was the first of a number of UK city stops as The Color Run prepares to spread even more colour and happiness across the country.
