Race news: Organisers of Cheltenham’s Half Marathon are excited to announce last years Running Club Award winners, CLC Striders, as its running club of the year for the 2015 race!

As the Cheltenham race looks to grow in popularity for runners in the South West, the club will play a vital role in promoting the run, inspiring new participants to get involved, and helping organisers to develop the race day experience.
Local running clubs were invited to apply to become the Club of the Year, with CLC Striders awarded the accolade after making a real impression with race organisers, claiming the title Cheltenham’s Half Marathon Club of the Year for 2015.
Brendan Ward, Chairman for CLC Striders, said: “We are a running club based at the Cheltenham Ladies’ College Sports Centre, and are proud to have been chosen as this years Club of the Year. CLC Striders running club is in its eighth year, and is open to runners of all abilities over the age of 18. We provide inspirational and motivational support to our members with a view to helping them to enjoy their running. Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial, said: “CLC Striders pride themselves on being a club that can help and encourage you to get the most out of your running, whether your interest is running for fun, getting fit, or training for anything from a 5k race to a marathon. These values run in parallel to what we at GO2 promote across all of our races, making for the perfect partnership!
“Running is an activity that anyone can enjoy, and we were impressed by the level of passion and commitment demonstrated by CLC Striders in encouraging wider participation locally. Their drive to grow the running community in Cheltenham is admirable, and they’re certainly a well-deserved holder of both the Running Club Award and now Club of the Year title!”
