Race news: Ikano Robin Hood Marathon and Half Marathon - Sunday, September 27, 2015

Runners in this year’s Ikano Robin Hood Marathon and Half Marathon are in for a treat once they cross the Race Village finish line as the race organiser Sweatshop has revealed the race medals for the September event.
Bigger than ever before, the medals have dedicated ribbons and designs for each race. The medals come in a variety of colours with red for the Mini Marathon and orange for the Half Marathon. Marathon runners will certainly be wearing their green medals with pride - this year’s features a spinning stag styled centre-piece to pay homage to the occupants of Wollaton Park.
The picturesque new route means an estimated 12,000 runners will pass through the 500 acre park with company of the resident deer and is a great spot for spectators and runners alike to soak up one of the most beautiful green spaces in Nottingham. The new route also includes more of the city’s landmarks than ever before, making Sunday 27 September a date not to be missed.
Judith Manson, Senior Operations Manager at Sweatshop, comments: “We are very excited for the return of the Ikano Robin Hood Marathon and Half Marathon. The three medal designs chosen for this year’s event reflect the history of Nottingham with Robin Hood featured on the ribbon and the Stag representing links to the City Council Coat of Arms and Wollaton Park.
"We’ve listened to feedback and worked long and hard on the design to make sure our runners can wear their medals with great pride!”
