Thousands of runners took part in Sure Run to the Beat, billed as London’s only music 10K, with participants treated to festival-worthy live DJ sets as they pounded the pavements around the iconic Wembley Park.

Sure Run to the Beat is a celebration of running and fitness with its festival vibes and incredible atmosphere making it a race to remember. The unique event starts and finishes at Wembley Park, home to one of London’s most iconic sporting venues, taking runners through the streets of Brent, with music positioned throughout the route to keep runners motivated.

Creating an incredible atmosphere and providing the energy and motivation for participants to complete the run, the DJ roster included BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Capital Radio DJ and presenter of BBC’s The Voice Marvin Humes, and TV and Radio Presenter Jameela Jamil.

After warming runners up and sending them on their way at the start line Danny commented: “Wow! That was an amazing day, what a party! It was great to entertain the thousands of runners here at Wembley Park today, the atmosphere was electric! After jetting from city to city all summer playing in some of the world’s most incredible venues it has been immense to top it all off today here in London!”

After taking on the city streets, through four high intensity music zones, runners crossed the finish line where Marvin and Jameela were ready and waiting for them in the famous festival finish for an epic after party celebration.

Marvin enthused: “What an awesome day – it’s been so much fun playing at such an iconic London venue to thousands of runners. Sure Run to the Beat is a really unique event, I’ve never played anything like it. Seeing so many people crossing the finish line and coming to celebrate their day with us at the after party was amazing – the crowds today have been great!”

Jameela echoed Marvin’s comments, adding: “Another awesome year at Sure Run to the Beat, it’s been brilliant seeing so many happy runners throughout the day. Music is such a great motivator for fitness and everyone has really embraced that here today, I’ve had so much fun playing to such an incredible, enthusiastic crowd!”
