Race report: Vitality Oxford Half Marathon - Sunday 11th October 2015

Perfect weather conditions helped light up Oxford in all its glory this morning, as a staggering 6,156 runners took to the start line of the Vitality Oxford Half Marathon, as Bedford & Country runner Steve Naylor raced home to secure victory with a time of one hour ten minutes and twenty four seconds.
The new look Oxford city route for the 2015 calendar saw David Bruce from Oxford City Athletic Club taking second in one hour ten minutes and thirty four seconds, followed by Oliver Langford in one hour ten minutes and forty seconds.
Best women's performances were by winner Fabienne Amrhein in one hour fifteen minutes and fifty three seconds, taking second Rebecca Hilland finishing in one hour fifteen and fifty five seconds, and in third Sophie Carter from Belgrave Harriers taking third with one hour twenty minutes and five seconds.
The event is the latest instalment in the Vitality Run Series, and allowed runners to experience two of the areas most loved sites from a very unique and historical perspective! Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing & Commercial at GO2, said: "We are extremely pleased with the performances put on by our runners, supporters and partners at today’s event, who all contributed to the electric atmosphere felt in the heart of the city and out on course!”
