Race report: Cheltenham’s Half Marathon Company Challenge - September 27, 2015

Staff from Messier-Bugatti-Dowty win Cheltenham’s Half Marathon Company Challenge!

Organiser of Cheltenham’s Half Marathon, sponsored by Whole Foods Market, are pleased to announce that staff from Gloucester-based Messier-Bugatti-Dowty have been crowned winners of this year’s Company Challenge!

Businesses entered the Company Challenge, with each overall team time made up of the top four fastest finishers within a mixed male and female team. The prize also included a charity donation of £250, which Messier-Bugatti-Dowty have chosen to donate to the MS Society, helping to bring their current fundraising total to over £5,000.

Jon Morrison, MLG Design & Analysis EGL at Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, said: “The team chose to support the MS Society as a friend and colleague has been recently diagnosed with the illness. Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 individuals and their families in the UK. The funds raised will enable research to help beat MS for good!”

Team SAFRAN MBD was made up of a mix of abilities, all determined to have a great day and achieve a personal challenge, ranging from getting a personal best time to completing their very first half marathon. You can still support the team by visiting www.justgiving.com/Team-Safran-MBD

Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial, said: "Congratulations to all the runners from Messier-Bugatti-Dowty who took on the Company Challenge! We have seen more teams enter this year than ever, and we hope that more organisations will be inspired by Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s efforts, and take on the challenge next year!”

3,257 runners took to the start line of the 13.1 mile race, cheered on by thousands of locals who lined the streets to show their support.

If you feel inspired by this year’s race, registration is now open for the 2016 race at www.cheltenhamhalf.co.uk
