Race news: Ikano Robin Hood Marathon, Half Marathon and Mini Marathon - Nottingham, Sunday, September 25, 2016

British Athletics and England Athletics have announced their road race championship events for 2016, and the popular Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon has been revealed as the event to decide who will become titleholders over the 13.1 mile distance.
Returning to Nottingham on Sunday 25th September 2016, the Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon will combine the British and English Half Marathon Championships for the first time in a number of years, welcoming elite athletes from across the country. The addition of iconic landmarks to the 2015 route truly enhanced runners’ experience and race organiser Sweatshop together with Nottingham City Council are working hard to ensure the 2016 route features new and improved elements - ideal for top athletes and beginners alike.
Judith Manson, Race Director, comments: “We’re delighted the Ikano Robin Hood has been selected for the Half Marathon Championships and we’re looking forward to being part of such a significant event. This race really does cater for all types of road runner and although the route is still under wraps, we know runners will be as excited as we are once all is revealed!”
Now in its 36th year, the 2016 event is predicted to welcome up to 10,000 runners to the half marathon and up to 2,000 runners to line up for the full marathon. The 1.5 mile mini marathon also provides the perfect option to run together with children and family.
