Where's Robin Hood?

by Press Release
Thursday 21st April 2016

It’s time lace up those trainers and start getting race ready as the Ikano Robin Hood Marathon, Half Marathon and Mini Marathon returns to Nottingham on Sunday 25th September 2016. Don’t delay - sign up now and join Robin Hood (if you can find him) and his merry men from across the country at this hugely popular event.

The 2015 picturesque new route included more of Nottingham’s landmarks than ever before and certainly impressed participants with the sights of the city while putting them through their paces. Yet more exciting news follows as race organiser, Sweatshop and Nottingham City Council have been working hard to develop new and improved elements for the 2016 event.

Although the route is still under wraps, the team at Sweatshop are this week releasing images of Robin Hood located at three new additions to the course. Free entry to the distance of their choice is up for grabs for one lucky runner if they can guess the correct locations where Robin Hood has been snapped in action – with the new route revealed on Friday 22nd April.

Judith Manson, Race Director comments; “We had great feedback on the new-look course from participants and spectators alike and the addition of iconic landmarks really enhanced the runner experience. We’re dedicated to ensuring the 2016 event is even better and once all is revealed we know runners will be as excited as we are. We look forward to seeing runners’ responses to our ‘where’s Robin Hood?’ competition!”

Now in its 36th year, the event is predicted to welcome over 10,000 runners to the half marathon and over 2,000 runners to line up for the full marathon. Sweatshop confirms the half marathon and marathon course is ideal for seasoned athletes and beginners alike. The 1.5 mile mini marathon also provides the perfect option to run together with children and family.

To enter the ‘where’s Robin Hood?’ competition please email catherine.russ@promotepr.com with all three answers along with your full name and contact number. Entries close Thursday 21st April 2016 with the winner notified by 28th April 2016. Winner will be selected at random.
