Tom Hollins wins the 2017 Montane Spine Race

The 2017 Montane Spine Race (268-mile race) men’s winner is the UK’s Tom Hollins.
 
In an incredible and dramatic achievement, Tom overtook Pavel Paloncy and Eugeni Rosello Sole, long-distance leaders of the race, as they slept at the Bellingham check point during the evening of Wednesday 18th January.
 
He was able to gradually extend his lead on Paloncy and Rosello Sole, crossing the finish line at Kirk Yetholm today at 12:01pm. His race time (unconfirmed) is registering as 99 hours, 25 mins, 36 secs.

Paloncy is currently in 2nd place, tracking at  just under 8 miles away from Kirk Yetholm. Rosello Sole is tracking at slightly over 11 miles away.
 
In the ladies race, frontrunner Carol Morgan has a long lead on nearest competitor, Helene Dumais. She is currently 34 miles from the finish line.
