The Gel-DS Trainer 22 (left) and the Dynaflyte (right)
After picking up our shoes - there are 3 pairs in the new range: the Dynaflyte, the Noosa FF and the Gel-DS Trainer 22 - we headed to the take-off zone! We readied ourselves for a 50 metre sprint along the high-level glass walkway above Tower Bridge as the traffic and commuters buzzed around below. It’s fair to say that 50 metres really isn’t our distance, but we were aided by a wind machine, pumping music, and of course, some super-light and super-fast shoes!
Joining us, though much quicker than us, were ASICS athlete Jan Frodeno, Olympic gold medalist and two-time Ironman world champion, and one of our favourite trail runners, Holly Rush.
ASICS picked the perfect venue and put on an incredible launch for these shoes. And our first impressions are really good. They’re light, feel really cushioned and most importantly, make us think that we might be able to run faster. Full review to follow soon.
Here’s a walk-through of the new shoes
