If you, like us at Run247, are a massive running geek then you will be excited to hear that there will be a new running show taking place in 2018. The National Running Show will take place on 20th and 21st January at the NEC in Birmingham.
Racoon Events, the events team behind The National Running Show, have deliberately timed the inaugural event to take place pre-race season, so that runners can safely plan their race calendar and nutrition whilst adopting their kit and technology brand preferences.
The show will be opened by running icon Dame Kelly Holmes and feature a fantastic line-up of speakers to thrill and inspire: Jo Pavey, five-time Olympian long distance runner; Elise Downing, who ran a lap of the British coast self-supported over 301 days; Sean Conway, extreme endurance athlete; Russell Smith, adventurer, presenter and consultant; Steve Edwards, ‘The Godfather of Marathon Running’; Jenny Tough, adventure, traveller and film-maker, and many more well-known figures within the running community.
With motivational talks from running experts, free advice on nutrition, training and equipment, the latest product launches, free gait analysis and trainer fitting and on-site competitions, The National Running Show is set to be the event to attend for runners of all ages and abilities.
Mike Seaman, Director of Racoon Events, commented: “We are thrilled to announce that we have appointed Breathe Unity to look after the press, media and more for The National Running Show. Their exceptional industry knowledge and experience will ensure that our inaugural event receives maximum visibility on the relevant channels and that no page is left unturned when it comes to the smooth organisation and delivery of the event. We have every confidence that Breathe Unity will help to ensure the success of the event in its first year and going forwards.”
Rebecca Richardson, MD of Breathe Unity, said: “We are delighted that Breathe Unity has been chosen to manage the PR of The National Running Show. With an impressive line-up of speakers and partners, a first-class venue, an action-packed programme for the weekend and universal appeal to runners of all abilities – from those starting out on their first 5K through to experienced ultra-marathon runners – the show has brilliant potential. Designed by runners, for runners, it fills a gap in the market for a large scale independent show. We look forward to helping the show achieve the success it deserves and to working closely with the organisers to deliver all their PR and media requirements.”
Already secured as partners for The National Running Show are some of the UK’s most trusted running brands and communities, including UKRunChat, Run Mummy Run, Racesolutions, the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon and Unilite.
The National Running Show takes place at Birmingham’s NEC on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st January, 2018. Tickets will be going on sale on 1st July 2017. Register your interest online to be the first to receive information about ticket sales.
Breathe Unity will manage all PR and media enquiries for this event.
