The weekend of June 4th/5th saw 10,000 runners battle the mud at Stanford Hall Estate, Leicestershire as they took part in the summer edition of The Wolf Run, including the event’s oldest runner who was 80!
The Wild Running event, which was founded in 2011 is a 10km course that combines Woods, Obstacles, Lakes and Fields (WOLF) to create the UK’s only Wild Running™ course. The event maintained the fun factor throughout, something that is highly valued by the runners, but the physical and mental challenges of the WOLF Run shouldn’t be underestimated.
The course was made up of a variety of manmade and natural obstacles that pushed every participant to the limit, including the Mud Sucker – a 40ft long mud bath – and the Landslide – a 100-metre long waterslide described by Facebook followers as ‘the best slide in OCR! (Obstacle Course Racing)’.
The WOLF Run, which recently won ‘Best Obstacle Race’ at The Running Awards for a third successive year, has a distinct festival feel where families and friends are encouraged to join the festivities. With tents serving drinks and food, a giant TV screen, live music and even ‘glamping’, it is more than just an OCR. It was a fantastic weekend.
AUTUMN WOLF entries are on sale now and start at £39.00. To find out more about The WOLF Run or to sign up for the next event (2nd & 3rd September) visit
