by Press Release
Thursday 20th July 2017

Meridian Foods has just launched new Peanut & Pumpkin and Peanut & Coconut nut bars.If you’re looking for some protein, post-run, these provide 6 - 8g per bar and the protein is provided naturally from Meridian's roasted nuts, without the added processed protein found in most other protein bars.

The bars are good for runners as the combination of protein and carbohydrates make them the perfect recovery snack, promoting speedy muscle repair after exercise whilst replenishing muscle fuel for the next workout. The bars are also dairy, soya and gluten free and suitable for Vegans.

Meridian Peanut & Coconut is a subtly sweet tasting nut bar, packed full of flavour and providing an excellent source of natural protein with 61% peanut and coconut in each bar. Peanut & Pumpkin also offers a perfect combination for healthy living, containing 62% peanut and seeds. Both are rich in protein, iron, fibre, magnesium, zinc and healthy fats.

Sue McIntosh, Head of Marketing at Meridian Foods, said: “At a time when people are struggling to balance a hectic lifestyle and healthy eating, we’re very excited to have further diversified our nut bar offering. The new bars provide a superb source of natural protein that health and fitness enthusiasts have come to expect from us. They are the perfect option to stay healthy on-the-go, and also help people ensure they’re getting enough protein in their diet.”

The new bars are available from independent health retailers and online at Meridian’s shop, meridianfoods.co.uk/ priced from £1.19 (RSP) per 40g bar.

Meridian is the UK’s leading nut and seed butter producer and has a range of nut butters including Peanut, Cashew, Almond, Hazelnut, Brazil, Macadamia, Pecan and Peanut & Coconut along with the recently launched new Peanut Butter with Seeds.
