Friday 26th January 2018
If you’re the sort of runner who isn’t averse to a bit of swimming and cycling then you might already be a fan of the Castle Triathlon Series, fantastic races in stunning locations. Well, we’ve got great news for you - they’re launching a series of running races.
2018 sees the launch of the Castle Run Series, bringing stunning off-road half marathons to each iconic castle in the Castle Triathlon Series, which spans the UK, Ireland and France.
Building on the success of the Hever Castle Marathon and Half Marathon in July 2017, which saw 330 runners on the iconic marathon course, Castle Run Series brings half marathons to each castle venue alongside the Castle Triathlon Series.  The first Castle Run Series event in 2017 earned an impressive 4.7/5 rating score on Racecheck.com, with runners commenting that the ‘beautiful landscape made for a highly enjoyable first half marathon’ and that ‘the marshals were incredibly supportive, and that the organisation of the water and feed stations were second to none.’
Castle Run Series dates:
Lough Cutra Castle Half Marathon, Sunday 27th May
Cholmondeley Castle Half Marathon, Sunday 24th June
Castle Howard Half Marathon, Sunday 22nd July
Festival of Endurance Half Marathon and Full Marathon, Sunday 8th July
Chateau de Chantilly Half Marathon, Sunday 26th August
Hever Castle Half Marathon, Sunday 22nd September

The Castle Triathlon Series has grown from strength to strength over the last ten years, being recognised for their stunning courses, iconic venues and atmospheric event festivals. The new half marathon offering gives runners the chance to benefit from the ever popular sport weekend with hundreds expected to take on the timed race.
Race Director Brian Adcock says, “Welcoming runners to our established triathlon events is a natural progression, after ten years of bringing triathletes from all over the UK, Ireland and France to our historic, stunning castle venues. Each run course at our castles has become iconic in the triathlon world, and we’re pleased to be opening these up to runners this year. Our family friendly multi sport festivals, with a triathlon distance for everyone, will welcome the addition of half-marathon runners to every castle in 2018.”
Castle Run Series races will each incorporate spectator friendly loops of beautiful countryside, a lake, and quaint and historic villages and of course a castle (or two!). Each runner will receive a medal and will be welcomed across the finish line with a banquet of well-earned treats, with live bands, food stalls, a retail area and camping at the castle making the weekend a festival of sporting achievements.
Runners can sign up now, making use of a 25% discount on all race entries which ends on 30th January, making the each half marathon just £30. To find out more and sign up visit www.castlerunseries.co.uk
