The Sage Reading Half has been cancelled. Here's the press release from the organisers:
2018 SAGE READING HALF MARATHON PRESS STATEMENT: 18 MARCH 2018
Statement from Judith Manson, Race Director.
The organisers of the Sage Reading Half Marathon confirm, with deep regret, that the race will not go ahead today, Sunday 18th March.
The weather conditions have deteriorated more than forecasted overnight and after consultation with the safety and medical advisors, it is with a heavy heart that we confirm it is too unsafe for all involved.
These decisions are not taken lightly; we have done everything we can to continue with the event but the health and safety of our runners, workforce, volunteers, partners and all involved is our first priority. We want the Sage Reading Half Marathon to be a hugely enjoyable event and success for all involved.
This is understandably very disappointing news for runners, stakeholders and supporters but we hope to have your full support, with runners’ safety at the forefront of everything we do.
